The artistic founds of the Museum Pedro de Osma come from the personal collection formed by Don Pedro de Osma Gildemeister between years 1936 - 1967. collector was a connoisseur of the Peruvian virreinal art, who reunited gradually around familiar patrimony remarkable objects of the more varied sorts and techniques that are a good reflect of the Peruvian art of centuries XVI, XVII, XVIII and XIX.
All the pieces were lodged in their large house of Barranco, arranged originally in tight exhibition, in the style of the European palace-museums of century XIX.
By will executor the Museum Pedro de Osma is administered by the Foundation Pedro and Angelica de Osma Gildemeister. Angelica was sister of Don Pedro. The Foundation supports important social works and also it has acquired artistic works for its exhibition in the Museum. |
