ROOM OF TEMPORARY EXHIBITIONS

The Temporary Exhibition Hall of the Pedro de Osma Museum was built in 1996; it is a very simple building with clean, defined lines that does not alter the principal buildings of the Museum. Its area is of 215 mē (19m x 9.20m).

For the display of paintings a modular system of panels has been studied and applied; they can be attached to the ceiling and their position can be changed which allows great flexibility for montages.

The panels are 1.20m wide and they are made of very transparent white cloths that add a special value to the pictures that are shown.

Special consideration has been given to the treatment of artificial lighting through the installation of a system of rails and the adoption of devices specifically designed for this purpose. The equipment of the hall is completed by the climate and atmosphere (22° Celsius and 50% relative humidity).

Since its opening the hall has had many exhibitions, both national and international. For its inauguration an exhibition of great Latin American artists was organized: Fernando Botero (Colombia), Claudio Bravo (Chile), Victor Chab (Argentina), Jose Luis Cuevas (Mexico), Pedro Figari (Uruguay), Wilfredo Lam (Cuba), Roberto Matta (Chile), Armando Morales (Nicaragua), Diego River (Mexico), etc.

We pride ourselves in not just showing many amazing Peruvian artist but also many great international ones.
