ROOM OF TEMPORARY EXHIBITIONS

Temporary exhibition hall of the Pedro de Osma Museum, is a construction builded in 1996, with very simple character and with an architecture of lines very defined that doesn´t alter the unity of the main volumes of the Museum. It has an exhibition area of 215 square meters (19 m x 9.20 m).

For the exhibition of the paintings it had been studied a modular system of panels that come from the ceiling and allow to change their locations, getting by this way a great flexibility for the assembly.

The panels of a wide of 1.20 meters are constituted by very diaphanous elements of white fabric, that allow to obtain a singular form to valorize the paintings that are showed.

It has taken special care in the treatment of the artificial illumination, that means the installation of a rail system conductors and the adoption of devices specially designed for such aim. The equipment of the room is complemented by the air conditioning system that creates the special enviroment needed by this kind of place (22º Celsius of temperature and 50% of relative humidity).

From its beginnings they have appeared in the Room numerous exhibitions with national and international character. In occasion of its inauguration was organized a exhibition of Great Masters of the Latin American Art: Fernando Botero (Colombia), Claudio Bravo (Chile), Victor Chab (Argentina), Jose Luis Cuevas (Mexico), Pedro Figari (Uruguay), Wilfredo Lam (Cuba), Roberto Matta (Chile), Armando Morales (Nicaragua), Diego Rivera (Mexico), mentioning some of the expositors.

The creative expression of artists born beyond the borders of Peru is a constant. There had been exhibitions coming from Morocco, and many other countries like Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, USA.

Recently (July - September 2004) was presented the exhibition "Five Centuries of Spanish Painting", collection owned by the BBVA.

There are also exhibitions from local artists: consecrated artists with international recognition, new generations of painters and Peruvian artists who are radicated in foreign countries.
