When the Pedro y Angélica de Osma Foundation decided to organize the art collection from the viceroyalty that Pedro de Osma Gildemeister left, the idea was not only to have just an organized collection but also a Restoration workshop in order to preserve the historic-artistic patrimony of the museum.
Since there, with a multidisciplinary perspective, many well-known professionals work mainly in painting and sculpture. We have also infrastructure to work with metals, textiles and furniture.

The preservation and restoration improve remarkably in the workshop and the Foundation decided to build new web equipped workshops in an are of 476 m2. Although the original idea for the workshop was to restore the art work that is in the museum, the prestige has originated that many people come to us to give us some extra work, some of which are really important. We can mention the restoration of the traditional Señor de los Milagros (Lord of the Miracles) image; the original mural that started that devotion, Nuestra Señora de la Nube (Our Lady of the Cloud) image. This last one is also related to El Señor de los Milagros image.
We have also restored the Death’s Archer of Baltasar Gavilán, an exclusive piece of the 18th century as well as the Immaculate Conception (1618) signed by one of the first Italian artists that came to Peru, Angelino Medoro. Both pieces belong to the Saint Agustin Convent in Lima. We can also mention the Apotheosis of Saint Camilo, painting from Lima made by Cristóbal Lozano from the 18th century.
The list of restored pieces and places is wide. The contribution of the restoration workshop of the Pedro de Osma Museum has a great significance.
